I’ve been ‘proximaded’ by Boudicca from Weeds to Seeds.
I’m notoriously bad at responding to awards and always squirm away. A friend told me I should pull myself together and just get on with it; how horrid/thoughtless was I, she said, not to give someone else’s blog a mention and to acknowledge an award? It’s just a bit of fun, after all.
‘It’s not that,’ I mumbled into my teacup ‘it’s just. Well just. It’s just…it’s just that…I just feel out of my depth!’ ‘Yes, I know it’s ridiculous, but I glaup and gleep with admiration at everyone else’s polished, amusing comments, and their seeming ease of blog choice; which makes me, for some peculiar reason, feel quite inadequate to nominate and remark in return.’
‘Oh for heavens sake!’ she exclaimed.
So here I am: out of my comfort zone: doing it as I should. Thank you Boudicca!
A rough translation of the ‘proximation’ is:-
“This blog invests and believes, the proximity. [meaning, that blogging makes us 'close' -being close through proxy]. They all are charmed with the blogs, where in the majority of its aims are to show the marvels and to do friendship; there are persons who are not interested when we give them a prize, and then they help to cut these bows; do we want that they are cut, or that they propagate? Then let’s try to give more attention to them! So with this prize we must deliver it to 8 bloggers that in turn must make the same thing and put this text.”
So here they are, and no one is obliged to do anything at all if they don’t want to!

Wow! Cool Paula ,Thank You!
Because of Your blog I feel like I have made a friend in Devon, which is a cool thing indeed!
Writing my blog is creative, and fun. With it I can reach out into the world to share my wierd little life. Through it I have met amazing people, heard their stories and learned about life in the rest of the big world.
I do feel guilty that weeks can go by until I feel that anything interesting enough has happened to write about. Everyone else here seem to have such action packed lives, or deep musings to share.
Thanks for the award! I always wondered what they were about when I saw them on other peoples blogs…Very groovy.
I have to admit to being in a post election haze..well in my case it was a happy hangover…literally. Ugh my head..
Isn’t it the Carnival soon?

Congratulations; like the idea of proximity and enjoyed your lovely photography. What fascinates me with the blogs how folk with very different lifestyles cross paths!

Thanks Paula. Do I have to give a speach or something? I too feel that I’ve made a friend in Devon via my blog. I don’t know what I’d do if I didn’t blog. At the moment I’d posting on two blogs at the same time… one in the UK and one in the USA. Must be mad! I really look forward to reading your posts… keep them coming! Jane x

[...] Paula of Locks Park Farm bestowed a “proximation” award on my blog. She explains it very humorously here. [...]

No probs heidi! Glad you’re happy and not cursing me…
Blogs are strange and wonderful things indeed – I’ve have virtual friends and virtual friends who have become living friends, all would not have happened without this worldwide communication.
And congratulations on the election…fantastic news! On a more serious note I feel fearful for the enormous expectations laid at Obama’s door; he’s inherited a huge mess that will take years of sorting out. Do you think he’ll be given the understanding and support while he unravels the chaos?
