Hi Paula. I know you will be seeing colours in abundance never seen here.

Draw them in. Being somehow remotely partly of the Caribbean region myself, or maybe I'd have felt this way anyway, maybe how we feel has absolutely nothing to do with genetics, assumed or real, or parents or experience, or previous travels, or dare I say it, the colour of our skin, maybe it is just an opinion (how annoying I find it when people assume I won't like the cold or the rain - how I want to withdraw from those people) . . .

Whatever the reason Robert wants to be in that stunning part of the world, I for one like to think it is just because he happens to like the idea. Certainly I come alive when I visit Jamaica or the Bahamas, but for me it is all to do with the vibrant colours, and the most turquoise waters. If we look for reasons for liking this place or that, we end up stereotyping people, (I know you would never do that), bit other people do.

On Dartmoor this weekend I can't say the same level of comfort was afforded me. I entered a pub where a couple of grimy old women served the drinks, and proudly defended a racist noticeboard. You now what's coming next don't you.

Oh, how I hate borders. Both imaginary and real.

Have a great adventure! Relax, swim, hike, and enjoy all the beauty of the place.
See you when you return, with plenty of pics of those colorful birds, and interesting mammals.

Paula. I'm so excited for you... it's going to be such an adventure. You must tell us what happens and show us some pictures. We are off as well. Next Friday off to Florida Keys to our house on stilts. Lap up the sun and enjoy yourselves - that's what we will be doing! Jane
